 The Story

In 2025, the majority of Beta, Gamma and Omega citizens work inside everyday machines unseen by the elite Alpha class. One citizen worker makes the fatal mistake of contacting the woman he longs for on the other side.

 About the Film

‘The Printer’ is a dark, satirical science fiction short film of 15 min. duration, that is set in the near future in a city in northern Europe. The film reveals a world where mankind has had to de-industrialize itself to keep its large unemployed population busy, by making them manually run basic machines in our everyday lives.

As a result, we are split, with people living seemingly normal lives on one side of the wall and the rest working, unseen on the other side. Our central character works inside a printer in a corporate office and one day makes the fatal mistake of contacting someone on the other side of the wall..

The old lines of racism are being replaced by new divisions of classism and ‘The Printer’ takes us further down such a dark path, showing it may not be so far away. The aim for this film ultimately is as a cautionary tale that hopes to create an awareness of the choices in front of us everyday.

Extending our Completion Campaign

We really hope to spread the passion with which we made this film across to you and to inspire your involvement in its last stage.

As a team we've agreed what we want most, is for people to see this film. So we found a variety of ways to do both that and help the completion such as, offering a pre-sale ticket to watch the premiere online or putting a hologram of you in the films background or even coming onboard as an Associate or Executive Producer. (Pls see further options below)

Extending the momentum of our Seed&Spark campaign, we found a less restrictive way to receive your ongoing support to complete the film here. So whether you’re re-visiting us to re-pledge or coming here for the 1st time, we are most grateful for your support and looking forward to sharing the film with you!
