SYNOPSIS:
The storyline spans 30 days and nights following a mysterious event that throws Greater London into Darkness on a busy Friday night. Even more curiously with the disappearance of all power in the city, the absence of all forms of authority also becomes apparent to a group of diverse individuals who are stuck in the middle of ensuing chaos.
The characters are eventually brought together and forced to face the lawless situation they have found themselves in. Each person turns out to be not be what they originally seem, as their fight for survival reveals a primal side that lies beneath all of our human nature.
Based on carefully researched similar case studies in recent history ‘Dark World’ simulates a situation which exists as a plausible nightmare under the surface of all our lives. Furthermore, the plot line gradually reveals pieces of a puzzle to the characters, who realize a darker purpose behind why and how the lights went out. The truth is scarier than they could have imagined.
Dark World is not a Game. It's a simulation of real world situations based on scientific and behavioural research of actual events. By placing audiences in seemingly familiar environments, we gather their moral and primal responses to sudden danger, chaos, cooperation, compassion and Empathy.
By gamifying the simulation through VR, we then spread the user's experience across multiple platforms and story worlds, eventually leaving a trail of millions of data points that becomes pathways for a shared, living narrative. The result is a vast collectively created story, guided by professional writers into a high end TV series format for SVOD platforms and immersive video game.
